On May 13th 2014, Streaming Tank streamed the “Pitch to Rich 2014” event live from Richard Branson’s Oxfordshire home.
The event aimed to highlight UK entrepreneurship as Richard Branson, a panel of prestigious judges, a marquee filled with Pioneers, followers of virgins and various Twitter accounts voted to pick the winners of #Pitch2Rich 2014.
Several chosen finalists from an earlier competition pitched their business idea, product or concept, to a panel of judges including Sir Richard Branson. Streaming Tank provided live streaming, consultancy, production and social media integration services to the event, helping them increase the word about their pitch.
The video was viewable in pinned Tweets across three different Twitter accounts, as well as live on http://www.virgin.com/entrepreneur and http://www.virginstartup.org.
Twitter not only served as a landing space for the streamed content but also as a means for viewers to interact with the live show by casting their votes and helping choose which pitch won in different categories.
Votes were cast by Tweeting “@VirginStartUp” with the right hash tag.
Our development team’s own built platform, “Mission,” then scoured the web for qualifying Tweets and tallied them up. Once the voting closed, the results were revealed on-air by the host, who won both the investment and expert knowledge of Richard Branson and his team.
