IBC is Europe’s premier annual event for those working in content creation, technology, and broadcast.

And we couldn’t have been more delighted to support the Nokia team in demonstrating the incredible 360 degree live streaming abilities of the Nokia Ozo.

Streaming Tank sent a whole lot of kit and a team of two out to Amsterdam to support Nokia. Our role was to deliver the vision mixing and streaming of Nokia’s multi-camera productions from their booth theatre at IBC. The live VR feed was broadcast via Akamai to head-mounted displays at the booths of Elemental and Akamai.
None of the Streaming Tank had used an OZO before but they had to learn fast! In the weeks leading up to the event we worked on pulling together all the necessary cables and converters and then had a fantastic few days delivering beautiful VR streams to industry professionals from across the globe.

We had already delivered a number of 360 degree live streaming projects with alternative camera rigs, but are really excited to add this to our suite of solutions. We grabbed onsite techie Phil Andrews and asked what he took away from the experience.

“The Nokia OZO provides a high end but streamlined 360 live production solution. When combined with the Blackmagic Design workflow and Nokia proprietary software, there’s no competition. It delivers 4k stereoscopic multi-camera mixes to any platforms, live, and does so seamlessly.
We learned a lot using it at IBC, supplementing our previous experience with other 360 rigs. As such, whatever the budget, be it [high end to low end], we can deliver your immersive experience, multi-camera or mixed”
Check out some example Ozo footage below.
