“The Streaming Tank team provided a phenomenal service for a critical and high profile event. Their skills, expertise and calmness throughout the high energy event were strongly demonstrated. I very much look forward to the opportunity of working with the team in the near future.”
Rachel Cain, Global Director
Streaming Tank is no strangers to 24 hour live broadcasts, having managed 24hr live streams for brands such as Samsung and EA Games in the past. The challenges faced during the Coca-Cola and Maroon 5 24hr session followed along similar lines to past projects, allowing us to use our experience and expertise to ensure the event could be watched live and online for 24hrs.
Working alongside Nexus Productions and Helicar & Lewis, Streaming Tank provided hardware encoding systems that encoded the live content into Flash for web delivery, and HTML5 for iPad and iPhone devices. Video content produced by Nexus was then ingested into our encoding systems along with the studio mic audio. Multiple cameras were set up in various locations to capture the band working on the track.
This historic music event was broadcast live and online in Flash, as well as to iPad and iPhone devices. 139 countries watched the live broadcast, with thousands of Maroon 5 and Coca-Cola fans viewing the live broadcast and contributing to the creation of the new Maroon 5 track.
The single was released on 1st April, and available as a free download from the website. For the first 100,000 downloads, Coca-Cola will make a donation to *RAIN, which will help to provide clean water to people in Africa.
