NME Awards 2014 Stream

“This year we wanted to serve fans with the full digital experience of the NME Awards. The live stream of the ceremony will give fans the kind of access to rock ‘n’ roll’s biggest night that they’ve never had before.”

In February 2014 & 2016, NME chose to live stream their annual Awards. For the project, NME enlisted the expert knowledge of Streaming Tank and LoveLive – who between them have worked with global stars such as Rihanna, Blur, Paul McCartney, The Who and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds – to deliver the event. This live stream enabled fans to enjoy the full ceremony in HD quality on multiple devices including desktops, tablets or mobile and the awards were also live-streamed via NME’s Twitter and Facebook.

This project was awarded as a result of Streaming Tank’s previous accomplishments in the social streaming arena having broadcast events such as the launch of Blur’s new releases on Twitter helping them reach number one on iTunes in a world record 22 minutes, The World’s first Twitter Gameshow for BT Infinity and The Wayra Global Demo Day in 2013.

NME.Com editor Greg Cochrane said: “This year we wanted to serve fans with the full digital experience of the NME Awards. The live stream of the ceremony will give fans the kind of access to rock ‘n’ roll’s biggest night they’ve never had before. By doing this we’re also cementing NME as one of the world’s leading digital music brands.” If you miss the stream, you’ll be able to watch all the highlights on NME.com after the event.

With performances from ‘Godlike Genius’ recipient Blondie, ‘Teenage Cancer Trust Outstanding Contribution To Music’ recipients Belle & Sebastian, Metronomy and Dredge as well as attendees including Damon Albarn and Paul McCartney, the NME Awards 2014 with Austin, Texas were, without doubt, the biggest and best yet! Music fans cast hundreds of thousands of votes across 20 categories for this year’s awards. Arctic Monkeys led the nominations this year with an outstanding eight. Haim followed closely with six nominations whilst Queens of The Stone Age, Lily Allen and Arcade Fire all received three.

Streaming Tank Marketing and Account Executive Greg Adams, added “The 2014 NME Awards are an extremely exciting project to be live streaming online, and we’re delighted to be able to give music fans around the world the chance to enjoy what is set to be an incredible night at Brixton Academy.”
