Success for webcasting
of EA games event
Video streaming
specialists Streaming Tank are delighted
to announce the success of their webcasting of
the recent EA Games “Be The One” live event.
Despite adverse weather conditions, an estimated
70,000 gamers attended the event showcasing some
of EA’s latest offerings, including The Simpsons
Game, Need for Speed ProStreet and Rock Band.
As part of the London Games festival, the event
was hosted inside the largest temporary
structure ever erected in Trafalgar Square. For
those who didn’t fancy braving the elements,
Streaming Tank hosted a live webcasting over the
internet.
In addition to the notable gaming attractions,
the event included live performances from McFly,
the Automatic and Natasha Bedingfield. Also in
attendance was former Hollyoaks star and lads
mag favourite Gemma Atkinson, who plays a role
in the new Red Alert 3, which was launched at
the event.
EA enlisted the help of Streaming Tank to stream
footage of the event to gamers around the world.
The included interviews with artists, plus
reviews by fellow gamers on all of the new
releases. Streaming Tank director James
Wilkinson commented:
“We were approached by EA to provide video
streaming coverage of the event, which could be
accessed by viewers across the globe. The event
was a huge success, and we were happy to provide
live media streaming for those who could not be
there in person.
Speaking about the festival, London Mayor Boris
Johnson commented: “It demonstrates the
creativity and range of the gaming industry,
which, as an important part of London's creative
sector, makes a vital contribution to the
economy as a whole. With events across the
capital, the festival has something for everyone
and illustrates the popularity of this thriving
form of entertainment.”
