Streaming Tank win ‘Best Live Event’ at the BT Digital Music Awards for their work with Maroon 5
Streaming Tank has received further confirmation that they are leading the way within the live video streaming industry with another prestigious award at the highly rated BT Digital music awards, the music industry’s premier award ceremony for music across the digital platform. On this occasion they won within the ‘Best Live Event’ category for their online broadcast of the Coca-Cola Maroon 5 campaign.
The ceremony was a star studded red carpet event which took place at London’s Round House on the evening of Thursday 29th September and featured live performances from Rizzle Kicks, Maverick Sabre and phenomenal breakthrough talent Ed Sheeran, amongst others. Other stars of the music world who attended to collect their respective awards ranged from The Kaizer Chiefs, Olly Murs and JLS, who won best Group.
Other companies and agencies that provided assistance to Streaming Tank included Nexus Productions, Frukt Communications and Wieden+Kennedy.
The campaign involved Maroon 5 sitting in a recording studio based in London and coming up with a new single all in the space of 24 hours, after initially being set the challenge by Coca-Cola. To help Maroon 5 along the way Streaming Tank live streamed the session onto social networking platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, where the band’s fans gave their input as to what the song should be about and helped with ideas about lyrics.
The Event proved to be a huge success with figures from the Live Streaming showing 34 million Facebook impressions over the 24 hour period. There were also 54,000 Facebook comments/likes, 107 million trend impressions of the promoted Tweet trend #WithMaroon5 and 31,000 mentions of #WithMaroon5. On top of all this there was a 187% increase in average daily growth for users following @cocacola.
Coca-Cola was so impressed with the outcome of the campaign that they subsequently invited Streaming Tank to Live Stream their 125th anniversary concert celebrations from outside their head office in Atlanta. Coca-Cola also placed the resulting Maroon 5 single, appropriately titled ‘Is Anybody Out There’, as a free download on the Coca-Cola website, while also donating money for each of the first 100,000 downloads to the Replenish Africa Initiative (Rain).
