Streaming Tank show why they deserve their nominations in the Streaming Media European Reader’s Choice Awards
The Streaming Media European Reader’s Choice awards will be soon upon us and Streaming Tank has been nominated in two categories. The main event itself will take place on the 18th October 2011 from the Streaming Media Europe Conference in London, but before then the voting will take place until 23rd September to narrow each category down into 3 finalists.
This voting process has already begun and, unlike most award ceremonies, this one is decided purely on the votes of Streaming Media’s readers, hence the title of the awards. This is where you can make a big difference by helping Streaming Tank, simply by visiting the Streaming Media Website and voting for Streaming Tank in their two nominated categories; ‘Streaming Services Provider’ and ‘Best Live Webcast of 2011’.
However, we don’t expect you to blindly give your recommendations without knowing a little more about some of the reasons why Streaming Tank is so deserving of their nominations this year. We have outlined just a few of the projects Streaming Tank has worked on in the last few months, with added links to some of the full case studies:
The V Festival is one of the UK’s largest and most popular music festivals, now in its 16th year. Streaming Tank streamed over 20 hours of live content from the two day festival to 3 separate online sites, www.vfestival.com, www.channel4.com/T4 and also the V Festivals’ Facebook page, www.facebook.com/vfestival.
Not only did Streaming Tank provide the hardware encoding solutions and infrastructure to enable the content to be streamed live and online to thousands of music lovers across the UK, but they also developed a bespoke player for the festival, which enabled viewers to select one of 3 stages being streamed live simultaneously over the weekend.
Earlier this year Streaming Tank worked with Coca-Cola and musicians Maroon 5 to live stream a 24hr recording session from a studio in London. The premise was simple; produce a single from start to finish with help from fans around the world watching live on Facebook.
The event was a huge hit with subsequent statistics showing 54,000 Facebook comments/likes, 107 million trend impressions of the promoted Tweet trend #WithMaroon5 and 31,000 mentions of #WithMaroon5. On top of all this there was a 187% increase in average daily growth for users following @cocacola.
Coca-Cola was so impressed with the success of the event that they used Streaming Tanks’ services again soon afterwards to live stream their 125th anniversary concert celebrations from outside their head office in Atlanta, USA.
This is an on-going series of live streaming events as part of Ballantine’s ‘Leave an Impression’ marketing campaign and has so far consisted of a Tattoo artist named K.A.R.L producing the world’s first animated tattoo, an Ice Sculptor called J.A.M.I.E producing an ice robot puppet and a Graffiti artist named 45.R.P.M create an animated graffiti wall.
All these events were done live as a human API, allowing users on Facebook to influence the design and creative process through interactions with the individual artists. This campaign has proved to be a massive success, capturing the imagination of Ballantine’s Facebook followers, with the Human API Tattoo video already receiving well over 1million hits on YouTube alone.
London Fashion Week & Top Shop
Streaming Tank worked closely alongside both the London Fashion Week (LFW) organisers and leading high street clothing retailer Top Shop to ensure that both sets of shows during the first London Fashion Week of 2011 were seen live and online by people not fortunate enough to attend in person.
This further goes to show why Streaming Tank is seen as an industry leader in the reliable live streaming of internationally recognisable events, as this was the fourth time in succession the London Fashion Council had commissioned Streaming Tank to work on the full programme of fixtures during the event.
Google Think Mobile Live Stream & YouTube Live: Preferred live streaming provider
Streaming Tank was asked to live stream the Google Think Mobile events, with the first event taking place from Kings Place in Central London and involved key speakers discussing the future of the global mobile industry.
The success of the event through its online audience, viewing on the YouTube live streaming platform, the Brand Republic website and mobile devices such as iOS (iPhone or iPad) or Android obviously impressed Google as Streaming Tank were soon asked to work as a preferred live streaming provider on their increasingly popular YouTube Live service.
This is just a small example of the many highly successful projects or events Streaming Tank has worked on in the last year. Others worth mentioning include live streaming for Telecommunication giants O2, the BAFTA and Mercury Music Prize nominations, the Sonisphere Festival and Powerplay Golf’s inaugural tournament to name a few.
Streaming Tank are no strangers to this particular award ceremony either, as last year they won the award for ‘Streaming Services Provider 2010’ at the same ceremony. They have also won 12 other awards in the past year too, including the prestigious ‘Chairman’s Award’ at the IVCA Clarion awards in September 2010, so without doubt they have a pedigree that comes with distinction. With your help they will keep that tradition going of leading the Streaming Media industry with a combination of hard work and innovation.
