Streaming Tank receive ‘Best Event’ Nomination in this year’s BT Digital Music Awards
Streaming Tank is once again preparing to celebrate with yet another award nomination, following on from over a dozen awards in the last 12 months alone. This time the specialist creative video streaming logistics agency has been shortlisted within the Best Event category at this year’s BT Digital Music Awards for the Coke Music 24 hour session with Maroon 5.
This was a unique and highly successful event at the time, which involved Coca Cola music throwing down a challenge to popular musicians Maroon 5 that involved the band sitting in a recording studio based in London and coming up with a new single all in the space of 24 hours.
To help Maroon 5 along the way Streaming Tank live streamed the session onto social networking platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, where the band’s fans gave their input as to what the song should be about and helped with ideas about lyrics.
The band went onto produce a great record entitled ‘Is Anybody Out There’ which can be downloaded for free on the Coca-Cola website, with the drinks giant donating money to their Replenish Africa Initiative (Rain), to provide access to clean water for thousands of people in Africa, for the first 100,000 downloads.
The real success lies in the statistics from the live streaming though, with 34 million Facebook impressions over the 24 hour period. There were also 54,000 Facebook comments/likes, 107 million trend impressions of the promoted Tweet trend #WithMaroon5 and 31,000 mentions of #WithMaroon5. On top of all this there was a 187% increase in average daily growth for users following @cocacola.
Coca-Cola was so impressed with the success of the event that they used Streaming Tanks’ services again soon afterwards to live stream their 125th anniversary concert celebrations from outside their head office in Atlanta, USA.
This award nomination comes on the back of 13 awards Streaming Tank has won during the last year, with the most notable being the prestigious chairman’s award from the I.V.C.A along with best viral and best live event at the same ceremony.
They have also been recognised by the Event Awards, the AV Awards, the Broadcast Digital Channel awards and the NMA awards amongst others, and of course not forgetting that Streaming Tank also won the very proud accolade of ‘best streaming services provider’ at the Streaming Media Awards.
The BT Digital Music Awards will take place on the Thursday 29th September 2011 from London’s Roundhouse venue and will feature ‘an incredible night of live performances, fantastic awards and a very well deserved party.’
