Streaming Tank is a finalist in the Streaming Media European Readers’ Choice Awards

Streaming Tank has reached the final three nominees for ‘Best Webcast of 2011’ in the Streaming Media European Readers’ Choice Awards for their Live Streaming of the ground breaking Ballantine’s project ‘Human API’.

Over 14,000 votes were cast in total for 281 nominees in 13 categories, meaning that Streaming Tank has already done well to be shortlisted down to the final 3 within their section, but the leading Media Streaming company will now be hoping they add yet another Award to their already growing collection.

The award ceremony itself will take place on Tuesday the 18th October during Streaming Media Europe 2011: The Business & Technology of Online Video, from the Olympia Conference Centre in London.  This is the only event in Europe to cover technology solutions and business models for online video – at work, on the move or at home.

The Ballantine’s project, for which Streaming Tank has been nominated, was an on-going series of live streaming events as part of Ballantine’s ‘Leave an Impression’ marketing campaign and consisted of a Tattoo artist named K.A.R.L producing the world’s first animated tattoo, an Ice Sculptor called J.A.M.I.E producing an ice robot puppet and a Graffiti artist named 45.R.P.M create an animated graffiti wall.

All these events were done live as a human API, allowing users on Facebook to influence the design and creative process through interactions with the individual artists.  This campaign has proved to be a massive success, capturing the imagination of Ballantine’s Facebook followers, with the Human API Tattoo video already receiving well over 1million hits on YouTube alone.

Streaming Tank has also just recently picked up a BT Digital Music Award for a 24 hour live streaming project they worked on with Coca-Cola and the music band Maroon 5, along with 12 other awards in the past 18 months alone. Streaming Tank was triumphant last year at this very same award ceremony winning ‘Streaming Services Provider 2010’, so they hope to repeat that with similar success in 2011.
