Streaming Tank has been nominated in the Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards

Streaming Tank, one of the media streaming industries leading creative video streaming agencies, has been nominated to receive an award at this year’s Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards.  This is the second year the award ceremony has been staged, building on the success of last year’s event and of course the more famous Cannes film festivals often frequented by Hollywood glitterati.

The Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards that take place annually are an international festival for corporate films and TV documentaries. An opportunity not only for corporate businesses, TV stations, production companies and film producers but also for film makers and students to present themselves to the media and clients in order to receive high recognition for their work.

This truly is an international event, with 410 entries from 27 countries worldwide.  The evaluation of all the films was done by an international jury who looked at a broad range of films with diverse target groups, before narrowing down the field to 82.  Each of these 82 finalists will now win either Gold, Silver or black Dolphin trophies within their set category.

Streaming Tank was shortlisted within the category ‘Webcasts’ for their record breaking film ‘Starbucks Love Project’, which has already won a host of other awards over the last year.  The event itself was arranged at the time by Streaming Tank, along with lead agency BBDO in New York, on behalf of Starbucks and the charity RED, and was designed to raise awareness about the spread of AIDS in Africa.

It consisted of assembled singers around the World in 156 different countries simultaneously performing the hit Beatles song ‘All you need is love’, live and online.  It was so successful that the event helped raise enough money to buy more than 7 million days of medicine for people living with HIV in Africa.

The project also saw Streaming Tank enter into the Guinness World Records™ for “Most Nations in an Online Sing-a-long”.  The music video also topped the Top 20 viral Videos chart and has since been viewed nearly 2 million times on YouTube.

The winners of the Gold, Silver and Black Dolphins as well as the Grand Prix will be revealed during the Awards Gala on October 13th, 2011 at Palm Beach Cannes. The very same day of the Awards Gala all the participant films can be viewed in the Media Centre, sponsored by Samsung.
