Streaming Tank a household name? - Not quite yet, but watch this space, according to the experts.
Award winning live video streaming specialists, Streaming Tank, are flying higher than their normally dizzying heights this week as they are named as one of the top ten companies to look out for in the coming year, according to top marketing website mediaweek.co.uk. As their correspondent puts it in the “Ones to watch: the new Facebook” article - ‘if you haven’t heard of them, you soon will’.
The article was put together by the author, Alex Patten, as a way of looking into the future and identifying those companies and brands that were creating the most waves at the moment in the internet world, and which would be most likely to help shape the future of the industry.
Other companies that feature on the list include ‘Playfish’, which has recently been snapped up by major games manufacturer Electronic Arts, and ‘Tweetdeck’, who have developed an application, alongside Twitter, that allows the user to browse across many top social media websites, such as Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, Foursquare and Myspace on the same “dashboard”, as well as developing apps for the iphone.
So it appears that Streaming Tank are indeed in good company, as all the members on the list appear to be bright, up and coming firms that are going somewhere, irrespective of their perceived size. Indeed, another one of the criteria for appearing on the list appears to have been that all the businesses featured are in good financial health with a clear mission statement, despite the current state of the economy.
As the author, Alex Patten puts it;
‘So size isn’t everything; what matters more is the newsworthiness or "buzz" surrounding a company.’
Then continues to say;
‘One thing is for sure: the companies listed…..are offering unique services or technologies that are shaping the future of the media industry - and if you haven’t already heard of them, you soon will.’
All this is very good though, but why did the author single out Streaming Tank as one of the leading lights in the online media world. Well, the answer to that soon becomes clear when you look at some of the projects that Streaming Tank have embarked upon in the last year alone.
They have quickly become the go to company for live streaming and branded online events, with achievements including the live streaming of every concert of a world tour by ‘The Who’, as well as a much awarded Love project for Starbucks and charity Red, which involved people from 156 countries singing the Beatles classic ‘All you need is Love’, to raise the awareness of aids.
If you combine these groundbreaking achievements with the fact that in February 2010 they organised the live streaming of every show from the London Fashion Week, then you can understand why Pete Townshend from ‘The Who’ was prompted to comment: ‘When it comes to video streaming, these guys are the business.’
So, the message is clear, at least as far as those in the know are concerned. If you need the type of services that Streaming Tank provide, such as live video streaming, podcasting, Web TV, video production, video banners or email, then the best company to go to over the next year, and of course subsequent years, appears to be….well, Streaming Tank of course.
