Me-TV: The future of on-demand
Leading TV marketing company Thinkbox have once again teamed up with Streaming Tank in delivering their “Me-TV: The future of on-demand” webcast. Held at the Soho Hotel, the event was broadcast live via the Thinkbox website on January 28th between 9.30am and 1.00pm.
Streaming Tank worked alongside Thinkbox on the production of the live footage and provided a live video stream which enabled the event to be viewed online by a global audience. Ironically, this broadcast, which focussed on the future of on-demand television, was only available during the live broadcast and not on-demand.
The discussion covered a variety of topics, such as the future of web TV, it’s affect on broadcast TV and how this may affect the future of television advertising. Unlike traditional broadcast television, which is delivered en masse across the country, on-demand TV has much more of a niche audience, who tend to watch at a time which is convenient to them.
Television advertisers need to do much more research into the ways in which viewers from different age groups and socio-economic backgrounds respond to the wide variety of advertising formats which are available on on-demand TV. Only when this has been achieved can they begin to fully understand and eventually capitalize on this emerging technology.
Managing Director of Streaming Tank, James Wilkinson said:
“This event raised a number of important and intriguing questions with regards to on-demand TV and the future of television advertising. With our company being at the forefront of web TV we’re particularly interested in to how television advertising evolves.”
