Video streaming specialists Streaming Tank have teamed up with British music legend Mike Batt to provide the video streaming on the new Dramatico.tv website, an online TV station which showcases both his own work and the work of artists who belong to Mike’s Dramatico Entertainment record label.
“Mike Batt?” You may ask. “I’ve never heard of him.” However, if I was to ask have you ever heard ‘The Wombles theme’, or the song ‘Bright Eyes’ from Watership Down, the reply would be, “Oh yes of course I’ve heard those!” Well, these two everyday pieces of music, which we all know and love, came to us courtesy of Mike Batt’s songwriting talents.
Mike Batt has been writing, performing and producing music for over 40 years and unbeknown to us mere mortals, has been quietly sitting in the background whilst his music has infiltrated our lives from a variety of sources. Mike co-wrote the David Essex’s 1982 hit ‘A Winters Tale’. He also wrote two other top 10 hit on the eighties, namely ‘I Feel like Buddy Holly’ by Alvin Stardust and ‘Please Don’t Fall In Love’ by Cliff Richard.
Mike also contributed seven compositions to Venessa Mae’s 1995 album ‘The Violin Player’, which sold over eight million copies worldwide and more recently is responsible for co-creating the all girl string quartet Bond, and produced their first single. Mike is currently showcasing his own work and the work of artists on his record label, Dramatico Entertainment, on his recently launched Dramatico.tv website.
Contemporary artists such as Katie Melua, whom Mike discovered in 2002, and went on to become Britain’s best selling female artist in 2006, Jem, whose song ‘It’s Amazing’ featured on the soundtrack of the ‘Sex in the City’ movie and the First Lady of France, Carla Bruni, are all, amongst a host of others, under Dramitco’s wing.
The new online TV channel features music videos from Mike Batt himself, along with video’s from Katie Melua, Carla Bruni and of course The Wombles are available on demand. The Dramatico.tv web site also features a continuous 24hour video stream, making Dramatico.tv a bona fide 24/7 online television channel.
