The Who
Project Objectives
Streaming Tank clambered aboard the tour bus for the European leg of The Who's tour, streaming footage from every concert LIVE to thousand’s of online viewers.
Solution
Streaming Tank developed a website for the tour which incorporated a pay-per-view e-ticketing system linked to a PayPal account. Fans from all over the world were then able to buy tickets or donate money to the Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity Roger Daltrey is Patron of. Viewers were then able to view the live performances online.
Each concert was broadcast via satellite, with hardware encoders packed onto the back set of the tour bus.
The live concert footage was preceded by Rachael Fuller’s 'In The Attic' series, a 1 hour behind the scenes look at the tour, with interviews and backstage footage. An airstream trailer had been transformed into an makeshift studio where exclusive interviews with the likes of The Raconteurs, The Eels, The Flaming Lips, Martha Wainwright, and impromptu jamming sessions were held.
Result
Streaming Tank broke the record for the most number of simultaneous tour dates to be streamed live and online. Tens of thousands of The Who fans from across the world watched the legends perform live and online.
